HeArt Journaling: 6 Week Signature Class
The truth about
Art & Creativity
So you’re thinking about making some art and getting creative, but you don’t know where to start. You loved creating as a kid, but then you grew up. Life got busy. Plus, someone might have even told you when you were young that your art was no good, so that meant you were no “good” at being creative – that creativity was (and remains) the purview of “real” artists with capital A “talent.” But still. You feel a pull to rediscover color, texture, and play. To have fun.
Does any of this sound familiar?
- You want to make art, but somewhere along the way you decided you weren’t good at it
- You feel that if you can’t make “good” art, it’s not worthwhile to make art at all
- You feel that if you can’t make “good” art, it’s not worthwhile to make art at all
- You feel that if you can’t make “good” art, it’s not worthwhile to make art at all
I get it. I’ve been there. But here’s a secret: CREATIVITY (by and for you) doesn’t actually require a bunch of technical skills or even “talent” – whatever that means!
Creativity is a direct path to reconnecting with ourselves and our intuition, and it’s a gift of self-care. Plus, making stuff is SUPER fun!

The Process of Ritual Creativity
Once you register below, you’ll receive a welcome email from me with a detailed list of the necessary supplies for class, pertinent handouts, and Zoom information. At this time, you’ll gather your materials and email me with any questions.
Once a week for six weeks, you’ll join me for 3 hours of creativity. Each week, you’ll learn a myriad of techniques using a small collection of supplies (without investing tons of money) to get your creative juices flowing. You’ll also receive detailed instructions that you can easily carry into creating on your own.
As we move through the material, we’ll work together step-by-step in real time. During class, you ask any questions you want along the way, play, get your fingers dirty, and experience the creative process in the form of learning how to add layers to create complete journal pages.
Every week, I’ll send a follow-up email to review what we covered during the class with additional words of encouragement. I’m always available to answer questions that come up, too!
When our course comes to a close, you’ll receive a final PDF featuring all the techniques we covered through the course, so you’ll have them for future reference. Take some time to celebrate yourself for having gone on this journey of personal growth, discovery, and self-care – you are incredible, you!

Tracey’s art class changed my life and introduced me to a new and wonderful way to express myself. My art journaling helped me so much in COVID-19 isolation. I can never thank Tracey enough for introducing me to this.”

How HeArt Journaling Heals
Like life, our creative process doesn’t always go the way we want it to. Like life, things don’t always turn out pretty. Or even pleasant. That is 100% okay. Ideal even. Why? Because the process of leaning into those feelings, rather than shoving them down, arguing with yourself, or berating yourself, is a primary way a regular practice can benefit us in the rest of life.
If we can’t tolerate the discomfort of an unappealing journal page, how can we tolerate discomfort in real life? If we look at something we create and call it ugly or stupid, we might as well look in a mirror and say the same thing. No!
HeArt Journaling is a social ritual combined with the process of creativity that meld into a supportive, potent container allowing observation and release of judgment and negativity.
You’ll walk away with a tool kit full of techniques and tips, concrete instructions for next steps, and guidance into the vast world of mixed media artists. Access to your authentic self, the source of unique creativity. No one can create like you can!
And, mixed media creativity is a tool that is readily available for us, even when we can’t do much else. Like during the pandemic lockdown or times of illness or stress.
I was diagnosed with breast cancer last October and just finished six months of chemotherapy and radiation. I’m on the mend now and cancer free after treatment, but it was quite an ordeal.
To help me through this, I did a lot of gel printing and found old board books from the son’s stash and also at the free bin at the library. I did collages – some about the cancer experience, but others just free form.
Thank you for all the classes – this was such a great outlet for me as I was fatigued and mentally fogged from chemo. I couldn’t do much else of make art and collage.”
– Cynthia L.
